Coastal Minimalism represents a harmonious union of coastal aesthetics and minimalist design principles. This design philosophy not only creates visually stunning spaces but also promotes a sense of calm, simplicity, and functionality. By blending the best of both worlds, Coastal Minimalism offers a versatile and enduring approach to interior and architectural design. As “Coastal Minimalism” was theme given to me, I had to style a studio apartment based on my learnings & understanding.
A comprehensive understanding of construction materials such as brick & stone masonry, staircases, doors & windows, arches etc , their properties, and applications is essential for architects and interior designers. This knowledge forms the foundation for creating innovative designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing while considering environmental sustainability and potential demolition scenarios. Ongoing research and awareness of emerging materials also contribute to the evolution of design practices in the construction industry. Based on our learnings we had to submit projects detailing a staircase & a bathroom.

For me, Design is a powerful blend of emotions, creativity, functionality & purpose. Crafting a personal space is an introspective process that involves understanding oneself deeply, encompassing personal tastes, preferences, memories, and aspirations. It's a journey that merges self-reflection with the tangible elements of design, resulting in a space that authentically represents and nurtures the individual.
